Where life is an adventure not a race!

THANKS TO ARROWHEAD RANCH- (this is one of the funniest notes I have ever received from a parent. It is a classic. Thank you, Mr. Robertson, I appreciate it! )
Dear Kathy,
I have to admit that I am getting a little weary of my son's constant prattle about your school and his naturalist, Justin.
He has an inexhaustible amount of information to tell me and his brothers. For instance: you know....what this and that plant is called, how to make Tylenol from a shrub, the plant that inspired Velcro, all the work required to prepare to climb to the summit of Strawberry Peak, the mountain lion, the dormitory, all about the 'bead' economy, yada, yada, yada!  Of course, he included the stature and status of Justin, his new hero. Suffice it to say his imagination was fired up by his week at your facility in your program. A huge success! Thank you very much.

(He had planned to go camping directly from his son's week at science school)
Secondly, I wanted to say again how impressed I am with you and your ability to communicate all things about your mountain. We took your instructions where to go camping. The places described were easily found and well served. We got a sleeping bag for his brother at the Trading Post. We restocked with clothing at the second hand store near by. We took a three hour hike to Deep Creek by way of Cedar Glen with a fabulous result. (you might have mentioned that the water is still a little chilly for swimming. Us flatlanders can be too daft to figure that out BEFORE jumping in.)We ate lunch afterward at the Malt Shop. We skipped Wilderness Road and Fishing Camp, saving the undercarriage of my car. We instead set up camp where you suggested on Green Valley Creek. Not being prepared for the amount of rain and cool temperatures did cause us to abort the overnight ambitions, but we definitely have something to look forward to for a later trip. From too many unhappy experiences trying to follow the directions of well meaning locals, and forest rangers, I recognize a particular genius in what you did for us.
Thanks again.
Much well deserved success to you.
Kent Robertson
